Congratulations to Keenan Hale of McCallie for being named the Varsity Team Sports High School Athlete of the Week for the week of April 10, 2010.
The Blue Tornado track star competed in 4 events that were going on at the same time. In less than 30 mins he did the high jump, literally ran to the 110 meter hurdles finishing second, then ran to be the anchor leg of the 4 X 100 relay team which finished third, ran to make only one attempt at the triple jump – usually three attempts are given – finished 4th, then went back to finish the high jump clearing 6’2″ finishing first. He achieved all of this in less than thirty minutes helping McCallie win the Optimist Meet at Walker Valley by 137.5 to 64 over Tyner.
A note about the award – each week Varsity Team Sports partners with Sgt. Football and Sound Off Sports to honor one Chattanooga-area high school athlete for their outstanding performance in their sport. Sgt.
